Program Overview

The USF TGH Family Medicine Residency is a three-year ACGME-accredited training program affiliated with the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine and Tampa General Hospital. We are a founding program committed to training compassionate, skilled family physicians who are prepared to lead in primary care.

Our program takes a holistic approach to health, integrating physical, mental, and social dimensions of patient care. Residents receive comprehensive training in both inpatient and outpatient settings, preparing them to serve diverse patient populations across the full spectrum of family medicine.

Karim Hanna, MD, FAAFP, FAMIA

Founding Program Director

Dr. Hanna is a board-certified Family Physician and Clinical Informaticist serving as Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at USF Morsani College of Medicine. As Founding Program Director of the USF TGH Family Medicine Residency, he brings expertise in clinical education, health informatics, and patient-centered primary care.
